Balcones is a grain to glass distillery conveniently located in downtown, Waco, the heart of Texas. We craft many unique whiskies and spirits, all of which have received worldwide recognition. Our flagship whisky, '1' Texas Single Malt, is our pride and joy, made using quality Scottish barley and aged in premium oak barrels.

It was just a few blocks from Balcones’ original home. In 2015, after a few years of wrangling, Balcones began construction on its new facility. Retrofitting the 100 year old historic property was a Texas-sized undertaking. The result however was impressive. By February 2016, the distillery now had 4 stories and 65,000 square feet of space. Balcones is a highly awarded craft distillery, earning over 40 internationally recognized awards from panels such as Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky, Wizards of Whisky, Best in Glass and the San Francisco International Wine & Spirits Competition.
