Ticking noise under acceleration. Hi everyone my 05 LLY has developed a awful tick under load. I believe it may be dirty injectors. Still plenty of power and I use Howes diesel treat with every tank. lly ticking. Pretty annoyed!! I developed a tick about 3 weeks ago and it was clearly coming from passenger side so i pulled valve cover and checked the valves. Found a few that were a couple thousandths out of specs so i went through and adjusted #'s 1,3,5,7. Bam engine is silent, running quieter and better than ever.Ticking noise at idle. I have a 06 GMC Duramax and at idle, there is a constant loose sounding ticking noise. It does not sound like necessarily coming from the engine but in the front loser to the grill. Before I take it in and have looked at, I thought I would get someones opinion. In terms of LLY injector problems, GM had sorted out the internal failures with the 2004 ½ redesign, but the LLY Duramax would occasionally exhibit a trouble code for the injectors, but in most cases it turned out to be an issue with the injector harness rubbing through and causing a short or open in the wiring.
