#1 · Mar 14, 2015. Hello forum, I recently got a 4" gp100. I want to add a fastfire ll red dot sight to it. If I can't keep it all sleek and trim looking I won't do it. I have a smith and Wesson 686 with an allchin mount and fastfire ll sight . its all nice and clean , no unnecessary crap on it and I like the looks.If an LCRx is to mount a red dot sight it must be an LCRx with adjustable sights to start. Presently there are no aftermarket red dot platforms that work with fixed, machined sights. There are 3-4 aftermarket manufacturers that make red dot platforms for adjustable sight Ruger pistols and revolvers. Can a red dot sight be put on a GP100 without the need of adding that huge P rail to the top of the gun. I was looking at one and thought maybe you could machine a piece of stainless to fit in where the adjustable rear sight is and then tap a couple of holes in that and mounting a red dot to it.
