The speakers were 802D, the source was a top-loading Oracle cd player (forget the model but expensive), and the preamp was a C46. We played around for a long time with this gear.But one day, by accident, I heard this amazing sound in a store and it was an all McIntosh system. It stopped me in my tracks. It had the sound I had been looking for all these years. I consider that the most fortuitous audio event so far. I even created an video review of the C220/MC252 combination.
