I blew my head gasket last weekend on a road trip (radiator hose went, overheated, you know the rest) so now I am in the process of doing the repair. Hey folks! I just had my 22r rebuilt after my timing chain skipped on my trusty 1981 toyota pickup. I'm a farm gal and not a mechanic but I understand the basics and know how my engine should feel and sound. I have driven 300 miles on the rebuilt engine and it feels pretty good but my idle is low, pretty rough and jerky while at a stop lights.Here is the LC one I have. The oil pump drive gear is brand new from Engnbldr and the Drive Spline is from my old engine, so I am guessing the Drive Spline is worn out. The the old oil pump drive gear has just as much play as the new one.
